Jasper and his friends decided to come together and dig into the music of this great jazz composer and performer. His ancestor was the creator of Kora (Harp Lute). He was born in a family of Griots: men and women who from the beginning of time perpetuate African popular history through oral tradition. Being one of the greatest Kora players of his generation, Zal and his Kora have travelled all around the world and have won many prices. Zal especially astonished the crowd during his performance at Le Cirque du soleil. Florin Răducanu is a pianist, composer, Professor, Doctor of Music, member and owner of the Composition prise for Symphonic Jazz of the Union of Composers and Musicologists, founder and conductor of the“Romanian Symphonic Jazz Orchestra”. As a teacher, he is the founder of the first section of Jazz at high school level in Romania at the National College of Music "George Enescu" in Bucharest. Florin Răducanu has created a brand from the fusion of classical-jazz and recorded so far eight author-CDs and a DVD in international events such as the "George Enescu International Festival", the club "Porgy & Bess in Vienna or the Operetta Hall in Kiev or Minsk Philharmonic. Dalila Cernătescu is Professor at the National University of Music Bucharest. Dalila Cernătescu has an international track record and CDs produced with major record labels like BMG (Germany), Jupiter Records (Germany), Belaphon (Austria), Octant Select (Canada) andf many others… Mihai Sebastian  is one of the few jazz saxophonists that approache the improvisation technique and the flute.  To discover !

Luz Chabane a choisi de chanter Michel Legrand car ce faisant elle articule, triangule, chose exceptionnelle, la Chanson française et donc le texte, la musique à l’écriture jazz et le cinéma. Amoureuse du texte en général, et plume elle-même plus qu’à son tour, Luz Chabane aime à raconter des histoires, l’histoire des gens. Et quand les chansons sont écrites pour le cinéma, Dieu sait qu’elles racontent des histoires de gens. Fan inconditionnelle du jazz, l’écriture musicale de Michel Legrand la rejoint dans ses aspirations de donner au texte français la liberté conditionnelle qu’offre la musique jazz. Quant à l’identité cinématographique des titres de ce concert-hommage, elle a séduit d’emblée l’une de ses identités propres, celle de comédienne.

Luz Chabane s’investit corps et âme, s’immerge, se noie dans l’œuvre de Michel Legrand et, par admiration et respect pour Michel Legrand, bâtit ses interprétations avec pour unique et incontournable condition toute l’authenticité, la personnalité, la sensibilité, qui sont siennes, loin du concept très actuel de « cover » .

Of Italian origin, Massimo Formica joined the big boys - such as Pino Daniele and Aldi Miolia -although he still considers Mike Stern to be his main Inspiration. He formed a jazz rock group, "Transfuzion", using mainly original numbers but equally adapting his performance to the sounds of some of his favourite masters, such as Mike Stern and John Scofield. This show is a preview of Laurent Doumont’s next project : «l’Americano». He presents for the first time a repertoire of Italian standards from the 1950’s & 60’s, joyfully adapted in the soul-jazz idiom he cares for. Nel blu dipinto di blu, Azzuro, Come prima… over the years, Laurent has always felt like making them his own, arranging and playing the songs like true jazz standards and now is the time to release them ! Together with his new Soul Quintet , they will put Brussels so close to Capri that if you close your eyes while having a cocktail at the bar, you can almost hear the sea.
