They performs magnificent pieces by Duke Ellington, Johnny Hodges, Ben Webster, John Kirby, Count Basie, Clark Terry, and Rex Stewart with panache. With passion, they strive to recreate the atmosphere of Kansas City’s smoky clubs, the formidable swing, and the luminous language of the great musicians of that era.
