Awarded at the “Journées Musicales de Carthage” in Tunisia as well as the “Prix de presse musicale” in France, Aleph Quintet is one of the revelations of the Brussels scene. Supported by the label Igloo Records, the first album of the group « Shapes of Silence » highlights the union of these five musicians, testifies to their roots, and retraces the years of travels where this collective was united around this music. Without imposing borders and carried by their generosity, North African music mixes with jazz improvisation, Gnawa rhythms and Sufi culture. This first album welcomes two prestigious guests of the Belgian jazz scene: Manuel Hermia and Fabrizio Cassol (Aka Moon).
