In the spring of 2020, the world was slowed down and we were kindly asked to stay home. All venues were closed and live music had to find its way through our computers. Meanwhile, Laurent used the time to go back to the basics : more practise and writing music. Soon the new compositions formed a repertoire that would suit perfectly the soulful sax-guitar-bassdrums quartet, an all time Laurent’s favorite. As soon as things were back on track, he called his go-to-guys for a try out and, guess what ? Perfect match ! « Meanwhile » is Laurent Doumont’s new Soul-Jazz quartet, playing their first gig at Music Village on 2 Nov 2022. Would you like to witness the birth?
