Le Brussels Groove Collective au Music Village

Is it possible to have 30 singers on one stage, singing as one voice, in harmony, with one groove? Well come and discover them yourself for the first time in your favourite club — we do not know where we will put them all!

The Brussels Groove Collective (BGC), the jazz vocal group from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, is directed by London-based pianist-singer Pete CHURCHILL. A great performer on stage, this man helped the legendary Jon Hendricks to complete his lyricisation of the famous Gil Evans/Miles Davis album, Miles Ahead – in insider language, this is known as « vocalese ». Quincy Jones was so impressed that he flew Pete’s London Choir to New York for the world premiere.

Among the singers in the BGC there are some external reinforcements, not least: Fabien Degryse, well known on the Belgian jazz scene, who have joined the bass section!

The choir’s repertoire is full of great standards from the world of jazz, gospel and groove, songs by Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, James Taylor, Count Basie… and Pete Churchill.

As a special guest, the young and talented British singer Immy Churchill will share the stage with the choir and sing some tunes with Pete Churchill.

This is a rarity. It is prudent to book.
