Blue Note Records is the most legendary, important and influential label in the history of modern jazz, with recordings that helped develop the Hard Bop style and profoundly shaped the jazz aesthetic of the 1950s and 1960s.
Trumpeter René De Smaele and baritone saxophonist Alain Cupper pay tribute to the golden age of the Blue Note label with iconic compositions by L.Morgan, J.Coltrane, H.Mobley, H.Hancock and H.Silver, among others. The first-rate quintet is completed by Vincent Bruyninckx on piano, Sal La Rocca on double bass and Jan De Haas on drums.
