THE BRUSSELS GROOVER COLLECTIVE
December 14 @ 20 h 30 min15€ – 18€
Groovin’ High in Christmas
Pete Churchill (lead, piano, vocals), and 35 singers from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and from the Belgian scene
Is it possible to have 35 singers on one stage, singing as one voice, in harmony, with one groove? And on the little podium of our jazz club? Well come and discover them yourself — we do not know yet where we will put them all!
The Brussels Groove Collective (BGC), the jazz vocal group from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, is hosted in residence at the Music Village, which allows it to refine its program in the best conditions — Thank you Lucie!
The BGC is directed by London-based pianist-singer Pete CHURCHILL. A great performer on stage, and a formidable bandmaster.
Among the singers, there are some external reinforcements, not least: the guitarist Fabien Degryse, well known on the Belgian jazz scene, and the pianist Philippe Navarre who have joined the bass section. And the violinist Cécile Broché, a newcomer to the alti section.
The choir’s repertoire is full of great standards from the worlds of jazz, gospel and groove. Songs by Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Count Basie, and Pete Churchill. …Plus some special songs for this vocal concert with Christmas flavours. Atmosphere guaranteed!
This is a rarity. It is prudent to book.
