Created in Brussels in 2017, the HLBB is the result of nocturnal encounters during after hours jam sessions at Bar Herman and Stompin’At Saint Gilles. The eleven musicians of this “small” large ensemble share their passion for Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Mary Lou Williams and many others. The ensemble is characterized in particular by the interpretation of original arrangements written by the various members of the band but also by an atypical orchestration where violin and accordion dialogue with woodwinds and brass.
While continuing their exploration of the repertoire of the “Swing Era”, they are currently deepening a repertoire entirely dedicated to the singularity of the work of the fabulous gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt: “Swinging with Django”.
