Whether you’re a fan of jazz, baroque or electronic music, I think it’s safe to say that we’ve all fallen in love with a piece of pop music. And in the back of our minds, the idea « I wonder what this would sound like if it had been composed in a more modern jazz style » can more than probably take hold. « When jazz and pop collide » was born of this idea, a quartet made up of Bruno De Smet (piano), Julien Derenne (drums), Sal La Rocca (double bass) and Nicolas Dewalque (guitar/arrangement) inspired by sounds such as Gilad Hekselman’s cover of « And I love Her » or Brad Meldhau’s cover of « Paranoid Android »,… Jamiroquai, Radiohead, The Beatles, Michael Jackson,… They’ll all be on hand to help you rediscover your favorite pop standards. Whether you’re a jazz fan with a taste for the new, or you’re looking for an introduction to jazz through familiar melodies, we’ve got something for you!
