    Druss Lecomte Jazz Quartet
    Erroll Garner Legacy

    Druss Lecomte (piano)
    Odimba Ghenda (congas)
    Thomas Petit (Drums)
    Jo Maartense (Bass)

Druss discovers the extraordinary Erroll Garner and his incredible playing full of humor in swing or mambo as in ballads... By listening to him, Druss understands and learns the technique of this great self-taught pianist...: a purely rhythmic left hand and a right hand which plays the themes while having fun pretending to drag to better catch up with the melody...
Druss will have the chance to go see him at the "Palais des Beaux-Arts" in Brussels...Druss is 19 years old at that time and dreams of creating a quartet like his Master... In 2010, he created his first trio in homage to Erroll Garner... Finally, for five years, Druss's dream has come true with the "Druss Lecomte Jazz Quartet" thanks to the excellent Thomas Petit on drums, Jo Maartense on double bass and Odimba Ghenda on congas who brings an African color to this quartet. This project, which is the legacy of Erroll Garner, is Druss' most beautiful project…

    FREEDOM JAZZ in Gershwin’s World

    Vincent Mardens (tenor saxophone)
    Sal La Rocca (upright bass)
    Jan De Haas (drums)

No guitarist or pianist in sight, just the rawest form of jazz, stripped of any harmonic artifice.

Sal La Rocca and Jan De Haas form the complete rhythm section, providing a magical foundation with a bass line, a pulse, and the energy of a drummer. This allows any horn player to blossom in total freedom.

Our three pals will attempt to bring you a selection of George Gershwin’s music, along with works by other great American composers of the era, in an unusual format that gives the saxophone full space to breathe and converse freely.

Prepare for an evening of contrasting moods and styles, meant to charm lovers of Gershwin and Sonny Rollins (who turns 95 this year). We’ll try to follow their path…

A true challenge, under the shadow of the Saxophone Colossus still echoing in our ears and hearts.

    Chad McCullough/Bram Weijters Quartet (USA - B)

    Chad McCullough (USA), trumpet
    Bram Weijters, piano
    Piet Verbist, bass
    Lionel Beuvens, drums

“Stunning, chilled lyricism and compositional acuity”—that’s how DownBeat Magazine sums up American trumpeter Chad McCullough. This winter he returns to Belgium on tour, flanked by some of the country’s most distinguished musicians. Together with pianist Bram Weijters, Chad has built a transatlantic musical partnership spanning more than ten years, five albums, and countless performances. You’ll even hear Bram on Chad’s latest record, In These Hills, Beyond, tracked as the culmination of Chad’s recent U.S. tour.

“With In These Hills, Beyond I wanted to explore life’s challenges. My grandfather had just passed away, and much of the music was written with him in mind. At the same time, it’s a celebration of long‑standing friendships—it was a dream to bring everyone together and develop this music live,” Chad explains.

Chad McCullough has firmly established himself on the Chicago jazz scene with his poetic trumpet voice and forward‑thinking compositions. In addition to leading projects like The Charm of Impossibilities and the Atlantic Road Quartet, he’s collaborated with a diverse array of jazz and rock artists and graced some of the world’s most prestigious festivals. His albums consistently earn praise from critics and jazz aficionados alike.

Belgian pianist and composer Bram Weijters is celebrated for his stylistic versatility—from straight‑ahead acoustic settings to free improvisation, fusion, and pop/rock. His synergy with Chad is evident in over 200 performances worldwide.

On bass, Piet Verbist anchors the group with his deep groove and chameleon‑like adaptability, drawing on a rich history with both national and international artists and leading ensembles such as Zygomatik and Secret Exit Trio. Drummer Lionel Beuvens rounds out the quartet with his dynamic flair and technical prowess, having released several acclaimed albums under his own name and becoming a go‑to collaborator for rhythmically sophisticated projects.

    Bruce Ellison & The Jellodies
Tribute to Fats Waller & Louis Armstrong

    Bruce Ellison (vocal)
    Patrick Louis (guitar-vocal)
    Druss Lecomte (piano-vocal)
    Guillaume Durieux (double bass-vocal)

Bruce Ellison began as a mime and voice-over artist for American television, as well as in musicals. In 1981, he arrived in Paris and joined the Marceau mime school. Founder with Michel Carcan of the Théâtre de la Mandragore, he also lends his voice to a number of advertising campaigns as well as children's programs. He is also the lead singer of the rock band PPZ30. He is the director and actor of the strange Mister Knight. With The Jellodies he proves to be an excellent singer in the color and antics of Thomas Fats Waller and the sung Jazz of Louis Armstrong

The Jellodies is a group inspired by the famous trio: Art Tatum-Charlie Christian-Ray Brown:

    Pat Louis (guitar and vocals) who moves from blues to jazz repertoire with a playing marked in particular by Freddie Green, Tiny Grimes and the great Charlie Christian;

    Druss Lecomte (piano and vocals) whose colorful playing will remind you of the swing of Count Basie and Nat King Cole, the stride of Thomas "Fats" Waller, James P. Johnson, the humor of Erroll Garner, the playing of 'Art Tatum. He opened for Fats Domino and Ray Charles. He has a long career as a jazz, blues, ragtime, stride piano, swing and boogie woogie pianist. At his first concert, at the Os à Moelle in Brussels, he was only...17 years old;

Guillaume Durieux (double bass and vocals), the youngest of the trio, already has superb technique and very high level slap.

The Jellodies is the swing and jive of the Nat King Cole Trio, Count Basie's rhythm section but also Willie Dixon's Big Three Trio, all this for our greatest happiness, "groove" wickedly!.. .

The alchemy that results from the meeting between Bruce Ellison and The Jellodies is absolutely magical.

A rather young band. Formed in the disastrous year 2020. You know, Covid. Separate journeys have brought some of the musicians to the wonderful, sizzling and bedazzling city of New Orleans, the birthplace of jazz. Mesmerized by its culture and above all by its music, they decided to take all this beauty back to Belgium and formed NO Pareto. Drawing on a vast array of musical influences, they take their audience on a wonderful, relaxing and blissful trip to one of the most amazing places on earth. Imagine yourself somewhere in sunny New Orleans. On the corner of the street, suddenly fine music, from when the Jazz began, echoes in the open. Of course, we have entered the 21st century, so it should not always sound so dusty any more. But the atmosphere, the cosiness, the swinging ... in short, what makes New Orleans, New Orleans, is still as clear as a bell. Dance, sing, clap, wiggle, ... along with this 5-piece force of beautiful musicians.

Inspired by John Coltrane’s second quartet, the ECM aesthetic and the Nordic jazz landscape, Sébastien’s writing is rooted in emotional expression — a jazz built from simplicity, bodily sensation and inner resonance.

Through deeply narrative musical figurativism, Playing for Change explores what moves us all: emotions, tensions, and the ways we look at our political and social world.
