A travel diary, which comes to life within this international quartet, full of ardor and amplitude; re-imagining the aura of Coltrane, the poetry of Mark Turner and the freshness of Immanuel Wilkins.

The Mardi Gras Jazzband is since 1983 an established name in jazzclubs and festivals in Belgium and perhaps even more in the Netherlands.
"Old Style" has been the motto all the time, in which long forgotten songs and surprising themes prevail.
This shows that "New Orleans jazz" is so much more than the playing style of black musicians who visited our regions in the sixties and seventies.
Their favourite repertoire dates from the "Roaring Twenties".
The Mardi Gras Jazzband has been around for over 40 years and was a regular guest at The Music Village.

Fascinated by the jazz of the ‘20s, they found themselves sharing the streets and the stage with local musicians, the Blue Mockingbirds were born.
The Blue Mockingbirds take their name from America's jazziest bird, a bird with the ability to imitate other birdsong. But the group doesn't limit itself to simple covers of songs from the ‘20s. They compose and rearrange century-old gems with taste and in the New Orleans style they love so much.

Guitar : Fabian Munda
Bass : Fabrizio Erba

Virginie Delbrassinne, passionate singer.
Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
While I mainly sing pop and rock, my influences are quite eclectic. I’ve trained with several vocal coaches ans also studied jazz at the Jazz Studio which really broadened my musical horizon.
For nearly 20 years, I taught singing at Rock’s Cool in Namur and Tamines.
But what I love most is performing live. Throughout the years and until now, I’ve been singing with various cover bands. One thing’s fot sur : the stage is where I feel truly alive : sharing energy with audience, living the moment.
Today, I keep exploring, singing, and connecting through music… always guided by passion.

Mingus Minga Mingum is a Brussels-based collective of jazz musicians coordinated by Clément Cerovecki, and fully dedicated to the music of composer and double bassist Charles Mingus. The aim is to keep this amazing repertoire alive (that shifts between swing, bebop, blues, gospel, free jazz, and classical influences) while adding a personal touch. In the vein of Duke Ellington’s big band, but with more fury and chaos this music, still too rarely performed, is an endless source of inspiration and fun for us.

“They are unbelievable… They are insane… and they are absolutely amazing live on stage. With their zootsuits, flamboyance, large beers, cheap whiskey, dancing and swinging... They will Jive You Crazy!” Jazz Connection is a true follower of the Jumpin’ Jive style and early Rhythm ‘n Blues style that hit America’s black postwar population. With songs from Louis Prima, Wynonie Harris, King Curtis and Teddy Brannon, they bring a revival of the best and brightest star performers from these exciting years. Founded 34 years ago (1990) in ‘jazzy’ hometown Breda, Jazz Connection is running like a train, swinging and rolling through Europe with their Jazz & Jive show. They have performed at major festivals and clubs in Holland, toured in Belgium, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Serbia, Bulgaria, Norway, Russia and Poland as well as in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. The band performed from the start of the band at the Breda Jazz Festival in Holland. Together with lots of humor Jazz Connection produces their remarkable sound: transparent, sophisticated, catchy and groovy. Whether it’s a festive jive, tantalizing boogie or heartbreaking blues, you’ll recognize without doubt the sound of this unique sextet.

As a quartet they bring this Caribbean music movement to life under the direction of Tomàs Sotolongo Fuentes.
TO' MEZCLAO seems like a traditional music quartet, consisting of: double bass, guitar, tres, congas, bongos and voice. Zoe they bring the most famous genres of Cuban music: SON. But also the lesser-known changüí, the nengón, the rumba, the bolero, the guaracha pass by. This group of young people gives the Cuban SON back the freshness and authenticity that made this rhythm the favorite within the wide spectrum of dance rhythms on the island.
