After his debut album with the historic Italian label Philology Records, Federico Milone’s quartet has become a group that regularly performs at festivals and clubs across Italy, Europe, and beyond. In Brussels, he formed his new quartet and recorded his second album as a leader, released in October 2024.
His second album, Deux Moi (Filibusta Records, 2024), is an introspective work that, through 11 tracks, explores a range of emotions, joys, sorrows, and life experiences seen from two different perspectives of the same person.
The quartet brings together exceptional musicians from different backgrounds: pianist Emanuele Filippi, who studied and now lives in New York; bassist Jasen Weaver, a New Orleans native active in both the European and American jazz scenes and drummer Armando Luongo, one of the most sought-after session musicians in Europe. Their main goal is to create a recognizable group sound based on trust and deep musical connection, prioritizing collective interaction over individual virtuosity.
