After two albums recorded in the piano – double bass – drums formula, Martin Salemi invites the saxophonist Sylvain Debaisieux to join his trio. On the piano, but also on synthesizers and keyboards, the pianist explores new compositions in the modern jazz tradition ranging from Keith Jarrett to Aaron Parks. The music of his new quartet is based on songs, folk and world music, with hypnotising grooves, detailed melodies and cinematic atmospheres. Jazz that is steeped in tradition and yet very much a witness of the ‘here and now’.
